True to form, the duo have delivered a taut, powerful rework which captures the irresistible groove of TSHA’s original.

“The track jumped right out of the speakers and ran straight for me,” laughs Lyric. “My Dad and I were both were mad excited about being given the opportunity to remix it.”

“Floorplan was a no-brainer for me when deciding on who to choose to remix ‘Power’,” says TSHA. “Robert Hood is one of the most legendary pioneers in dance music and has helped to pave the way for so many of us, so it’s a real pleasure and privilege to have them working on one of my tracks.”

Never far from a set of decks this summer, the remix has been a staple in TSHA’s expansive DJ sets. The Mixmag cover star released her “OnlyL” EP in August, a release that saw TSHA grace Spotify’s iconic NMF billboard in NY’s Times Square and the cover of their flagship ‘mint’ playlist with ‘OnlyL’ also taking #1 spot on Apple Music’s ‘Loops’. TSHA was also Apple’s ‘Up Next UK’ artist in June and was on the cover of New Music Daily and DanceXL with Zane Lowe describing TSHA as “An absolute club superstar. DJ, producer... one of the most exciting voices making club records”. Additional support on the EP came from the likes of FADER, Resident Advisor, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Dancing Astronaut, XLR8R, Magnetic Mag, This Song Is Sick, Vinyl Factory, Northern Transmissions and more, with NME hailing the her “pop songwriting flair” in their 4/5 review.

TSHA is currently the face of Spotify’s EQUAL campaign highlighting women who define the past, present and future of music. She also recently wrapped up her Jackfruit Radio series for Apple 1, featuring guests Maribou State, Bradley Zero, Effy, Daniel Avery and Elkka.

At this point Hood has unquestionably achieved legend status. He co-founded the groundbreaking music collective UR (Underground Resistance) with Jeff Mills and “Mad” Mike Banks in Detroit in 1989. He was a forerunner of what became known as “minimal” techno and started his own labels Hardwax (1991) and M-Plant (1994). His discography is long and distinguished, releasing the bulk of his work via his own imprints but also on Tresor, Peacefrog, Axis and most recently Aus Music, Dekmantel, Rekids and Classic.
